Suite aux r\u00e9sultats exceptionnels obtenus par la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e0 West Advocate, QIMC et son partenaire de recherche, l\u2019INRS, ont maintenant identifi\u00e9 une <strong>ligne anormale continue de 4 km \u00e0 Eastern Advocate (section de Bennett Hill Road)<\/strong>, <strong>moyenne <\/strong>623 ppm de H\u2082 avec une valeur \u00e9lev\u00e9e de <strong>2 247 ppm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Ces r\u00e9sultats soulignent l&#039;\u00e9mergence de la Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse comme une <strong>centre d&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne naturel \u00e0 l&#039;\u00e9chelle d&#039;un quartier<\/strong> en Am\u00e9rique du Nord, avec d&#039;autres r\u00e9sultats attendus des sites suppl\u00e9mentaires de Southampton et de Springhill.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Points saillants de Discovery \u2013 East Advocate<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Transect anormal de 4 km au nord-est de la d\u00e9couverte de West Advocate.<\/li>\n<li>47 \u00e9chantillons de gaz du sol ont \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9lev\u00e9s et analys\u00e9s sur place par l&#039;INRS.<\/li>\n<li>Concentration moyenne : 623 ppm H\u2082 ; m\u00e9diane 520 ppm H\u2082.<\/li>\n<li>Valeur maximale : <strong>2 247 ppm H\u2082<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Fr\u00e9quence : 36% d&#039;\u00e9chantillons entre 500 et 1 000 ppm et 11% entre 1 000 et 2 000 ppm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201c Ces r\u00e9sultats de l\u2019Eastern Advocate \u00e9tablissent clairement que la Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse abrite non seulement des anomalies isol\u00e9es, mais un syst\u00e8me d\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne en expansion \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle \u201d, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 <strong>John Karagiannidis, pr\u00e9sident et chef de la direction de QIMC<\/strong>. &quot;Avec <strong>deux zones confirm\u00e9es de plusieurs kilom\u00e8tres en moins de deux mois<\/strong>, \u201d Et avec d\u2019autres r\u00e9sultats attendus \u00e0 Southampton et Springhill, QIMC est \u00e0 l\u2019avant-garde pour faire de la Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse l\u2019une des r\u00e9gions les plus prometteuses en mati\u00e8re d\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne naturel en Am\u00e9rique du Nord. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Contexte g\u00e9ologique<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Afin de poursuivre l&#039;\u00e9valuation du potentiel naturel en hydrog\u00e8ne de la zone de faille de Cobequid (Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse), l&#039;\u00e9quipe du QIMC et de l&#039;INRS a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 un deuxi\u00e8me transect au nord-est du secteur Reid de West-Advocate. L&#039;un des objectifs secondaires de l&#039;\u00e9tude est d&#039;\u00e9valuer l&#039;importance relative des processus de transfert d&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne le long de la vaste zone de faille de Cobequid.<\/p>\n<p>Les travaux ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9s du 18 au 20 juillet 2025 dans des conditions m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques ensoleill\u00e9es particuli\u00e8rement favorables au pr\u00e9l\u00e8vement d&#039;\u00e9chantillons de gaz du sol (temp\u00e9rature moyenne de 25 \u00b0C).<sup>o<\/sup>C, pression atmosph\u00e9rique moyenne de 989 HPa et humidit\u00e9 relative moyenne de 64%). Un total de 47 \u00e9chantillons ont \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9lev\u00e9s sur une section de 4 km le long de Bennett Hill Road, situ\u00e9e dans le secteur d&#039;East Advocate.<\/p>\n<p>Les concentrations moyennes et m\u00e9dianes d&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne mesur\u00e9es dans les sols de ce secteur sont particuli\u00e8rement \u00e9lev\u00e9es, avec des valeurs respectives de 623 et 520 ppm. Les valeurs mesur\u00e9es le long du tron\u00e7on de Bennett Hill varient de 0 \u00e0 2\u00a0247 ppm.<\/p>\n<p>500-1000 ppm : 17 \u00e9chantillons (36%)<\/p>\n<p>1000-2000 ppm : 5 \u00e9chantillons (11%)<\/p>\n<p>Plus de 2000 ppm : 2 \u00e9chantillons (4.3%)<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"\\\"alignnone\" wp-image-79502\\\" src=\"\\\"https:><\/p>\n<p><strong>Figure 1<\/strong>. Variation de H<sub>2<\/sub> concentrations dans les sols de la section de Bennett Hill Road (East Advocate, Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ces fortes concentrations d&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne dans les sols de Bennett Hill sont observ\u00e9es \u00e0 12 km au nord-est de la zone Reid-Eatonville du secteur West-Advocate. L&#039;observation de fortes concentrations d&#039;H\u2082<sub>2<\/sub> Les anomalies observ\u00e9es dans la r\u00e9gion de Bennet Hill laissent supposer, a priori, que le syst\u00e8me responsable de la production d&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne pourrait s&#039;\u00e9tendre sur plusieurs kilom\u00e8tres. Ce sc\u00e9nario est plausible compte tenu de l&#039;importance de la zone de faille de Cobequid en Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse et de la pr\u00e9sence de roches ign\u00e9es potentiellement riches en hydrog\u00e8ne dans les hautes terres de Cobequid.<\/p>\n<p>Les concentrations en hydrog\u00e8ne les plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es sont observ\u00e9es principalement dans la r\u00e9gion des hauts plateaux de Cobequid, et plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment dans un domaine g\u00e9ologique complexe caract\u00e9ris\u00e9 par la pr\u00e9sence de roches volcaniques hadryniennes (prot\u00e9rozo\u00efques) de la formation de Jeffers, de roches s\u00e9dimentaires d\u00e9voniennes de la formation de Rapid Brook et de roches granitiques du pluton d&#039;Apple River. Toutes ces roches pr\u00e9sentent des faci\u00e8s cataclastiques, sugg\u00e9rant la pr\u00e9sence de structures secondaires (failles) probablement associ\u00e9es au couloir de d\u00e9formation de la faille principale de Cobequid. L&#039;augmentation de la porosit\u00e9 et de la perm\u00e9abilit\u00e9 des roches cataclastiques pourrait expliquer, entre autres, l&#039;enrichissement en hydrog\u00e8ne observ\u00e9 dans les sols de cette r\u00e9gion. Des \u00e9tudes p\u00e9trophysiques compl\u00e9mentaires devront confirmer cette hypoth\u00e8se.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"\\\"alignnone\" size-full wp-image-79503\\\" src=\"\\\"https:><\/p>\n<p>Figure 2.
