Le programme a identifi\u00e9 plusieurs anomalies de forte concentration d&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne, avec plus de 65 \u00e9chantillons de gaz du sol pr\u00e9sentant des concentrations sup\u00e9rieures \u00e0 500 parties par million (ppm). Parmi ceux-ci, 21 \u00e9chantillons ont affich\u00e9 des valeurs sup\u00e9rieures \u00e0 1\u00a0000 ppm, avec des r\u00e9sultats de 2\u00a0047 ppm, 2\u00a0458 ppm et 2\u00a0885 ppm, le plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 jamais enregistr\u00e9 par le QIMC \u00e9tant la concentration d&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne dans les gaz du sol\u00a0: 5\u00a0558 ppm.<\/p>\n<p>\u201d Ces multiples r\u00e9sultats d&#039;analyse de gaz du sol \u00e0 hydrog\u00e8ne d\u00e9passant 1\u00a0000 ppm \u2014 dont de nombreux \u00e9chantillons au-dessus de 2\u00a0000 ppm \u2014 constituent une avanc\u00e9e majeure pour QIMC et le secteur canadien de l&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne naturel \u201d, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 John Karagiannidis, pr\u00e9sident de QIMC. \u201d Ils valident notre mod\u00e8le d&#039;exploration, confirment les ressources en hydrog\u00e8ne naturel de la r\u00e9gion et soulignent l&#039;expertise de calibre mondial de notre \u00e9quipe. \u2019<\/p>\n<p>Le professeur Marc Richer-LaFl\u00e8che de l\u2019INRS, qui a supervis\u00e9 l\u2019\u00e9tude g\u00e9ochimique, a ajout\u00e9 : \u201d Ces concentrations sont consid\u00e9r\u00e9es par l\u2019\u00e9quipe de l\u2019INRS comme exceptionnellement \u00e9lev\u00e9es et actuellement sans \u00e9quivalent dans les sols de l\u2019Est du Canada. \u201d<\/p>\n<p>La d\u00e9couverte a \u00e9t\u00e9 faite \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 de la zone de faille de Cobequid, une structure crustale majeure des Maritimes canadiennes qui d\u00e9limite le terrane de Meguma au sud et celui d&#039;Avalon au nord. Ce syst\u00e8me de failles a connu de multiples \u00e9pisodes de r\u00e9activation au cours du Pal\u00e9ozo\u00efque et du M\u00e9sozo\u00efque, t\u00e9moignant d&#039;une \u00e9volution tectonothermique longue et complexe. Il est interpr\u00e9t\u00e9 comme une ancienne zone de rift, associ\u00e9e \u00e0 des \u00e9pisodes de volcanisme et \u00e0 la mise en place d&#039;intrusions gabbro\u00efques et mafiques apparent\u00e9es, qui marquent une \u00e9tape pr\u00e9coce du d\u00e9veloppement structural et magmatique de cette r\u00e9gion. Ces caract\u00e9ristiques font de la zone de faille de Cobequid un environnement tr\u00e8s prometteur pour la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration et la migration naturelles d&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne.<\/p>\n<p><b>Points saillants de l&#039;enqu\u00eate<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Valeur maximale\u00a0:<\/b>\u00a05 558 ppm H\u2082<\/li>\n<li>\u00c9tude g\u00e9ochimique r\u00e9alis\u00e9e le long de Reid Family Forest Road et d&#039;Eatonville Forest Road, couvrant chacune plus de 4 km.<\/li>\n<li>189 \u00e9chantillons de gaz du sol ont \u00e9t\u00e9 collect\u00e9s et analys\u00e9s dans un laboratoire mobile de l&#039;INRS.<\/li>\n<li>Des \u00e9chantillons ont \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9lev\u00e9s tous les 100 m \u00e0 l&#039;aide de sondes \u00e0 gaz, d&#039;une pompe \u00e9lectrique et de sacs de pr\u00e9l\u00e8vement de gaz d&#039;un litre.<\/li>\n<li>Les stations pr\u00e9sentant des concentrations sup\u00e9rieures \u00e0 1000 ppm ont \u00e9t\u00e9 densifi\u00e9es \u00e0 50 m afin de mieux caract\u00e9riser les secteurs anormaux.<\/li>\n<li>Un syst\u00e8me de d\u00e9tection \u00e9lectrochimique sp\u00e9cifique a \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9 pour la d\u00e9termination de H2<\/li>\n<li>Ce syst\u00e8me a \u00e9t\u00e9 calibr\u00e9 \u00e0 l&#039;aide d&#039;\u00e9talons de gaz certifi\u00e9s de 200, 500, 1000 et 20 000 ppm (H2).<\/li>\n<li>Les concentrations d&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne variaient de 0 ppm \u00e0 5 558 ppm.\n<ul>\n<li>44 \u00e9chantillons (23%) entre 500 et 999 ppm<\/li>\n<li>11 \u00e9chantillons (5,8%) entre 1000 et 1499 ppm<\/li>\n<li>6 \u00e9chantillons (3,2%) entre 1500 et 1999 ppm<\/li>\n<li>3 \u00e9chantillons entre 2000 et 3000 ppm<\/li>\n<li>1 \u00e9chantillon \u00e0 5 558 ppm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Suite \u00e0 ces r\u00e9sultats, QIMC a \u00e9tendu son portefeuille de concessions dans la r\u00e9gion de West Advocate afin d&#039;obtenir des terrains suppl\u00e9mentaires. Les concentrations les plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es sont observ\u00e9es dans une zone situ\u00e9e au nord de la faille de Cobequid et au sud de la faille de Spicers Cove. Les roches qui composent la couverture s\u00e9dimentaire font partie du groupe Horton (Carbonif\u00e8re).
