(CSE\u00a0: QIMC, FSE\u00a0: 7FJ, OTCQB\u00a0: QIMCF) (\u201c\u00a0QIMC\u00a0\u201d ou la \u201c\u00a0Soci\u00e9t\u00e9\u00a0\u201d) est ravie d\u2019annoncer une avanc\u00e9e majeure dans le cadre de son projet d\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne de Saint-Bruno-de-Guigues. Nos plus r\u00e9cents essais, r\u00e9alis\u00e9s dans des puits de surveillance peu profonds, ont d\u00e9pass\u00e9 nos attentes. Une mesure de la concentration d\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne a atteint un sommet de 7\u00a0119\u00a0parties par million (ppm) et s\u2019est stabilis\u00e9e \u00e0 2\u00a0886\u00a0ppm. Cinq autres mesures ont d\u00e9pass\u00e9 550\u00a0ppm, dont une de plus de 2\u00a0400\u00a0ppm, une de plus de 1\u00a0000\u00a0ppm et une de plus de 900\u00a0ppm. Ces r\u00e9sultats exceptionnels, enregistr\u00e9s \u00e0 des profondeurs allant jusqu&#039;\u00e0 50 m\u00e8tres, sont localis\u00e9s dans de nouvelles zones de failles identifi\u00e9es gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l&#039;imagerie de tomographie \u00e9lectrique r\u00e9alis\u00e9e par l&#039;INRS \u00e0 l&#039;automne 2024. L&#039;observation de fortes concentrations d&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne dans les roches fissur\u00e9es et\/ou sous les horizons du sol confirme nos observations pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes selon lesquelles l&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne provient de sources g\u00e9ologiques profondes et non de processus de fermentation biog\u00e9nique impliquant la mati\u00e8re organique du sol. De plus, la quasi-absence de dioxyde de carbone (CO\u2082) confirme ces r\u00e9sultats.<sub>2<\/sub>) et le m\u00e9thane (CH<sub>4<\/sub>) (concentrations \u00e0 l&#039;\u00e9tat de traces) dans les \u00e9chantillons souligne la puret\u00e9 de cet hydrog\u00e8ne profond\u00e9ment enfoui, renfor\u00e7ant les avantages environnementaux de cette ressource.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u00a0Cette r\u00e9ussite, malgr\u00e9 les conditions hivernales rigoureuses, souligne la robustesse de nos mod\u00e8les g\u00e9ologiques et g\u00e9ophysiques et confirme notre identification g\u00e9ophysique des zones de failles potentiellement advectives comme zones cl\u00e9s pour l\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne naturel abondant\u00a0\u201d, d\u00e9clare John Karagiannidis, PDG de QIMC. \u201c\u00a0L\u2019absence de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre nocifs place QIMC \u00e0 l\u2019avant-garde du d\u00e9veloppement \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique durable au Qu\u00e9bec et contribue \u00e0 faire de l\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne g\u00e9ologique une source d\u2019\u00e9nergie primaire.\u00a0\u201d<\/p>\n<p>R\u00e9cemment, le QIMC a men\u00e9 une campagne d&#039;installation de puits de surveillance peu profonds dans des zones anormales pr\u00e9alablement identifi\u00e9es lors des lev\u00e9s de gaz du sol \u00e0 hydrog\u00e8ne de 2024 ou des lev\u00e9s tomographiques \u00e9lectriques de l&#039;automne 2024. Ces puits de surface, for\u00e9s par Multi-Drilling de Rouyn-Noranda, ont \u00e9t\u00e9 install\u00e9s le long des routes publiques de Saint-Bruno-de-Guigues et sur des terrains priv\u00e9s. Les deux premiers puits ont \u00e9t\u00e9 for\u00e9s le long du chemin des deuxi\u00e8me et troisi\u00e8me rangs (ligne 7), les puits 3 et 4 le long du chemin de l&#039;ancienne mine Aiguebelle, et les puits 5 et 6 au nord du chemin du Quai (ligne 3). D&#039;autres forages sont pr\u00e9vus\u00a0: le puits 7 \u00e0 l&#039;ouest du chemin des deuxi\u00e8me et troisi\u00e8me rangs (ligne 7), le puits 8 au nord du chemin du Quai (ligne 3) et enfin les puits 9 et 10 le long du chemin du rang IV (ligne 1) \u00e0 Saint-Bruno-de-Guigues.<\/p>\n<p>La campagne d&#039;installation de puits de surveillance poursuit plusieurs objectifs. Premi\u00e8rement, expliquer la dynamique spatio-temporelle de la remont\u00e9e d&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne dans les sols de la r\u00e9gion. Le QIMC avait besoin de plusieurs puits de surveillance pour effectuer des pr\u00e9l\u00e8vements sous l&#039;horizon p\u00e9dologique et, par endroits, dans la roche fractur\u00e9e superficielle. De plus, la nature argilo-limoneuse des d\u00e9p\u00f4ts quaternaires de la r\u00e9gion de Saint-Bruno-de-Guigues et le contexte m\u00e9t\u00e9orologique r\u00e9gional laissaient pr\u00e9sager que les eaux souterraines peu profondes \u00e9taient susceptibles de perturber le d\u00e9p\u00f4t d&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne. Les puits permettent de pr\u00e9lever des \u00e9chantillons d&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne dissous dans l&#039;eau ainsi que du gaz accumul\u00e9 en t\u00eate de puits (gaz de l&#039;espace de t\u00eate).<\/p>\n<p>Lors du forage des puits, des carottes de roche ont \u00e9t\u00e9 syst\u00e9matiquement pr\u00e9lev\u00e9es afin de caract\u00e9riser les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s p\u00e9trophysiques, p\u00e9trographiques et g\u00e9ochimiques des roches prot\u00e9rozo\u00efques du Groupe Cobalt et, localement, des calcaires dolomitiques ordoviciens du Groupe de New Liskeard. Les roches du Groupe Cobalt sont des roches s\u00e9dimentaires anciennes, l\u00e9g\u00e8rement m\u00e9tamorphis\u00e9es mais peu d\u00e9form\u00e9es, reposant en discordance sur la ceinture de roches volcaniques et intrusives arch\u00e9ennes du Groupe Baby. Selon notre mod\u00e8le d&#039;exploration, cette unit\u00e9 \u00e0 tr\u00e8s faible perm\u00e9abilit\u00e9 est omnipr\u00e9sente dans la r\u00e9gion et pourrait agir comme une barri\u00e8re imperm\u00e9able limitant la remont\u00e9e d&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne vers les zones fractur\u00e9es tardivement par la faille extensive associ\u00e9e au graben du lac T\u00e9miscamingue.<\/p>\n<p>Parall\u00e8lement \u00e0 ces travaux, l&#039;INRS a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 une \u00e9tude de tomographie de r\u00e9sistivit\u00e9 \u00e9lectrique (TRE) (section de 2 km) et une \u00e9tude audiomagn\u00e9totellurique sur des parcelles agricoles bordant les chemins des deuxi\u00e8me et troisi\u00e8me rangs (ligne 7) et le chemin du Quai (ligne 3) \u00e0 Saint-Bruno-de-Guigues. L&#039;objectif principal de la section TRE de la ligne 7 \u00e9tait d&#039;obtenir des donn\u00e9es g\u00e9o\u00e9lectriques des gr\u00e8s du Groupe Cobalt, afin de v\u00e9rifier l&#039;homog\u00e9n\u00e9it\u00e9 et l&#039;int\u00e9grit\u00e9 de cette unit\u00e9, consid\u00e9r\u00e9e par l&#039;INRS comme une barri\u00e8re \u00e0 faible perm\u00e9abilit\u00e9 aux gaz. L&#039;\u00e9tude visait \u00e9galement \u00e0 documenter la pr\u00e9sence de d\u00e9pressions d&#039;\u00e9paississement glacio-lacustres (\u00e9paississement local des terrains de couverture). Ces zones pourraient avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 affect\u00e9es, entre autres, par des failles post\u00e9rieures associ\u00e9es au graben du lac de T\u00e9miscamingue. La figure suivante (<strong>Figure 1<\/strong>) pr\u00e9sente les r\u00e9sultats de l&#039;inversion 2D des donn\u00e9es g\u00e9o\u00e9lectriques acquises \u00e0 l&#039;aide d&#039;un r\u00e9seau de c\u00e2bles totalisant 1600 m avec un espacement inter-\u00e9lectrodes de 20 m. L&#039;imagerie ERT obtenue et les observations p\u00e9trographiques en lames minces mettent en \u00e9vidence que, malgr\u00e9 l&#039;origine s\u00e9dimentaire des gr\u00e8s du Groupe Cobalt, un m\u00e9tamorphisme de bas grade a consid\u00e9rablement r\u00e9duit la perm\u00e9abilit\u00e9 de ces roches de couverture (<strong>Domaine C<\/strong>) et que cette unit\u00e9 est extr\u00eamement homog\u00e8ne et \u00e9lectriquement isotrope (r\u00e9sistivit\u00e9 \u00e9lectrique). Une fosse (<strong>D<\/strong> <strong>domaine<\/strong>), pr\u00e9sent entre 500 et 750 m le long de la section, montre la pr\u00e9sence de plus de 100 m de s\u00e9diments mod\u00e9r\u00e9ment r\u00e9sistifs reposant sur le Groupe Cobalt (<strong>Domaine C<\/strong>Ce domaine semble \u00eatre li\u00e9 \u00e0 la pr\u00e9sence de mat\u00e9riaux sableux et graveleux situ\u00e9s sous l&#039;horizon argilo-limoneux glacio-lacustre (<strong>Un domaine<\/strong>). Une unit\u00e9 pr\u00e9sente au sommet de la fosse (<strong>Domaine E<\/strong>) et sous l&#039;unit\u00e9 limono-argileuse (<strong>Un domaine<\/strong>), pr\u00e9sente des valeurs de r\u00e9sistivit\u00e9 anormales qui pourraient \u00eatre interpr\u00e9t\u00e9es comme une zone d&#039;accumulation de gaz dans des mat\u00e9riaux quaternaires poreux et perm\u00e9ables. De m\u00eame, l&#039;anomalie <strong>Domaine F<\/strong>, situ\u00e9 entre 1025 et 1150 m, pourrait \u00e9galement contenir une accumulation locale de gaz ouvrant la voie \u00e0 des analyses avanc\u00e9es des gaz du sol et \u00e0 l&#039;installation strat\u00e9gique de puits suppl\u00e9mentaires pour exploiter pleinement le potentiel du site (<strong>Fig. 1<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"\\\"alignnone\" size-full wp-image-39691\\\" src=\"\\\"https:><\/p>\n<p>Figure 1. L\u2019\u00e9quipe du Pr Richer-LaFl\u00e8che poss\u00e8de une expertise exceptionnelle en g\u00e9ologie, g\u00e9ochimie et g\u00e9ophysique, notamment dans les r\u00e9gions des concessions r\u00e9cemment acquises par QIMC. Outre les gaz sulfur\u00e9s, l\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne a \u00e9t\u00e9 syst\u00e9matiquement analys\u00e9 lors des nombreuses campagnes de lev\u00e9s effectu\u00e9es en 2023 en Abitibi, \u00e0 T\u00e9miscamingue et dans les Appachies qu\u00e9b\u00e9coises.
